Color of the Week Painting

The boys are coloring with blue paint. They've been getting tired of
crayons and markers.

Another Baby Blanket

I spent so many months making this baby blanket and it came out so beautifully. I think it's my best work yet. I'm actually getting really good at knitting. I made it for my friend Jen and her son Reed. She seemed to really like it.

This is the Lion Brand Pound of Love hooded baby blanket pattern, with many added stitches. I think it originally calls for 87 stitches, but I added at least twenty. Probably more. I also didn't bother with the hood this time since I made the blanket so much bigger than the directions call for.

Time to start my next project I think. I need to make the kids some hats and scarves. Especially since they keep fighting over the single scarf they have.

Home Preschool is Fun!

After the kids and I got back from New York we started doing a free homeschool curriculum. To see the one we are using, just go to the Brightly Beaming Resources website. We are on week four, which has an eye theme. These are pictures of the kids examining each others and the dogs eyes to see the pupils dilate.

Christmas Tree is Up!

This is our first real tree that we’ve gotten at this house since we moved in and the second one we’ve ever had! Part of reason for that is the last time we got a tree it cost a small fortune. This year we were able to get a good deal. Thank you VFW!

Wish I had taken some pics when we picked it up, but we were only there for ten minutes. We got the second one we looked at.

My basement smells like Christmas, too. Love it!

Where Are the Kids?

So. I have been having a difficult time getting back into the swing of blogging after my New York trip. I didn't really post while I was travelling and I got very behind. I have a bunch of pictures and stories to go with them from those months and I feel as though I need to get them on the site before I blog about anything else. I did the same thing last year, too.

Hopefully this post will serve as a good reminder to yours truly that I don't have to document all that old stuff before writing the current stuff. As long as I can get myself motivated to do some writing, (and it's hard with the holidays and our schedule) look forward to more pictures and adventures of Trent and Hunter's adventures.

Oldest Commercial Electron Microscope

The Schenectady Museum has the world's oldest known commercial electron microscope. I think that's something special.
