Think She Wants a Dog House?
I have been spending all week concentrating on potty training the youngest man in the house. It's been going well. Disquietingly so. Anyway, when Hunter went poopy on the potty for the first time ever this morning I rewarded him with a huge lollipop. Gave one to Trent as well. Afterwards, the kids spent a lot of time in the bath while I cleaned up around the house. Now we're chillin' outside and Icesis has claimed their toy garage as her own apparently.
Homemade Wheat Thins
Yesterday the kids and I made wheat thins. It was so ridiculously easy. I think it would take about fifteen minutes to make them and they were sooooooo good. Here the kids are playing with the extra dough; rolling it out and using cookie cutters. I'm really loving all of the homemade versions of stuff that I'm finding on pinterest nowadays.
Homemade Orange Cleaner
I've taken to using straight vinegar to clean my home with. I saw this idea on pinterest and decided to give it a go. Should be ready in a few days. You just take orange peels, put them in a container and pour vinegar over it. Cover and let sit for ten days. Strain, put in a spray bottle and you should have a lovely smelling orange cleaner. I'll update when I find out how well it works. I also found a recipe for an enzymatic cleaner that I want to try at some point as well.
St. Patrick's Day Meal
Tried to get creative with a St. Patrick's day lunch for the kids. Dyed some cream cheese green and spread it on crackers, green grapes, green dyed milk and green veggie chips. In hopes that Hunter might try the grapes I made a yogurt marshmallow dip that I hoped he would use. No such luck. I think he would totally love fruit if he would just give it a chance.
Terrariums
I've been wanting to make some terrariums with the kids for some time now. Something about seeing them plastered all over pinterest has motivated me to finally do it. I actually like pinterest a lot because it's inspiring me to do projects that I usually say "I should do that" and then forget about a little while later.
I went out and bought everything we would need to make them. Thrift store and recyclables for the glass jars. Lowe's for the moss, peat and dirt. The pet store for the charcoal. We assembled everything and the kids had a blast making them. We made one big one together and each of the kids made a smaller one. Unfortunately, we added too much water to the big one and everything in it is getting covered in fungus, but the little ones seem to be doing really well. That's ok, though. We can just remake the big one!
