Here are some of the exhibits at the museum. I completely forgot about the fact that one of the exhibits centers a baby nursing. Go New York State Museum for promoting breastfeeding!

The boys using the computers in the Discovery Place and then it was on to the mammoth exhibit, which has been updated with a nice interactive computer.
Trip to the New York State Museum
Here is Trent helping me prep an activity to do during our visit to the New York State Museum. We made a scavenger hunt out of the New York State symbols.

Ice Cream at Stewart's
After spending an afternoon in a bat hole, the kids and I went to
Stewart's for ice-cream. Cones for the kids and a raspberry fudge
torte hot fudge sundae. Yum.

Howe Caverns 3
Just a few more pictures from the trip. After the tour was over, we came back to a very cool but ominous looking sky.
Howe Caverns 2 - Into the Underground Bat Hole
The kids did really well on the tour of Howe Caverns. They were very interested and Hunter stayed reassuringly close to me. He was definitely a little nervous while we were in the caverns. We were lucky that we were able to do the boat tour. Just that morning the dock was still underwater, but it had receded by the time our tour happened.
Howe Caverns 1 - Waiting Above Ground
One of the first things the kids and I did after we got to New York was to make a trip to Howe Caverns, which Trent called "the underground bat hole." Here are the first set of pictures of us waiting around for the tour to start. This was only a week after Hurricane Irene, and Schoharie County was hit hard by the flooding. Apparently the caverns had to be closed the week before because of all water.
I also took a picture of the uber-creepy animatronic Lester Howe that kick starts the tour.
Aunt Dottie and Company Visit
Right after Hurricane Irene blew through Virginia, Garrick's Aunt Dottie came to visit. In tow were her mother, son, future daughter in-law and granddaughter. It was a lovely visit and the boys were quite taken with their cousin Paige.
Trent's Dragon Tattoo
Angel was chillin' with us last month and she gave Trent a wicked cool
dragon tattoo. Trent loved it!

New Outfit
Took a trip to Target and got the kids some new clothes. Here's Trent showing off a little bit.
New Office
Garrick and I transformed Britten's old room into an office last month. It's nice to have a dedicated office in one of our rooms now.
