Chocolate cupcakes
I made chocolate cupcakes with Nutella cloud frosting for Hunter's third birthday. We didn't do a big party like we did last year. I just wasn't up for it this year. With Garrick going to school full time... Well, it just wasn't happening. I made him birthday pancakes first thing in the morning. I made him his requested dinner of spaghetti and of course the chocolate cake for after. I finally used the party animal cupcake pan that my Mom got me for Christmas. You can't tell from the picture, but that's actually a monkey.
Garrick got Hunter some cute toys for Hunter to open, too. He got this backyard adventure kit that came with a vest, bag, patches and canteen. I have to put the patches onto the vest for Hunter. I took some video of Hunter opening his presents. Once I have it on youtube, I'll put it here.
Presents From Aunt Lisa
Hunter opening his package from Aunt Lisa for his third birthday. He totally loves the doctor kit, it's constantly all over the house. :D
Doctor Who?
Doctor Tmoe! That's who! Trent is really into Dr. Who right now, in addition to about a kagillion other things. Hunter got a new toy and Trent was playing it pretending that it was a sonic screwdriver, then he found suspenders. I told him he needed a bow tie to complete the look. It would have been better if we did this before we cut his hair.
Hunter and Orange Cat
No, I don't have a cat. This cat lives across the street and is extremely friendly. Hunter loves Orange Cat. I don't know the cats name, obviously.
Easter Morning
Wasn't really feeling on top of things for this Easter. I had a hard time snapping myself out of it enough to make a dinner. We got this and and egg hunt done at the very least.
Dyeing Easter Eggs
I don't remember what was going on with Hunter, but it was just Trent and I dyeing eggs this past Easter.
Om Nom
This is Om Nom. I found him while I out on my very first run this year. He has become a fixture in our house. We love watching him do his thing. Icesis is very suspicious.
Om Nom is an Eastern Box turtle and is more like a tortoise than actual turtle. He's an omnivore and cannot live in a glass aquarium, hence the cement mixing bin he's living in. I luckily had all the supplies needed for a turtle on hand since we had recently built terrariums.
The Rug Was Wet
It rained the night before and I just happened to have this sitting outside on the deck.
Cloverdale Park Playground
The kids and I have started going to the playground in Cloverdale Park. I took these pictures on Tuesday during our second visit there. One of the homeschool groups I joined meets there every Friday afternoon and I learned a nifty little tip from them. There is a port-a-potty there that gets cleaned on Friday mornings. There are also several pavilions, one of which does have restrooms, but sometimes the port-a-potty is a cleaner option. To reserve the pavilions, just get in contact with the folks over at Veterans Park. In addition to the playground and pavilions, there are soccer fields and and baseball fields.
One thing that I really like about this park is all of the trees. There's always a shady spot to be in, which will be nice come Summer time. However, if you're squeamish about kids playing in mud puddles, try to avoid this park on days after it has rained. My kids had a LOT of fun playing in the mud puddles on Tuesday, but it sort of nixed my plans to go grocery shopping afterwards.
