February National Zoo Trip

February tends to be my favorite time of year to visit the National Zoo. Well, any of the cold months are. The crowds tend to be smaller and I'm not dealing with heat and humidity. My in-laws were visiting in February for an entire week and the two activities I asked them to do were the National Zoo and the Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum Annex. We did both and these are some of the pictures from our zoo trip.

It was the first time that I have been to the zoo and I actually saw the orangutans using the "o-line," a series of cables connecting the great ape house to the Zoo's "Think-Tank" exhibit. We also saw the lowland gorillas outside. We ate lunch outside of they're enclosure and when the apes came outside, you could smell the male ape as he left the building. The pandas were out and being adorable. All in all, we had a really nice time.

Trent really wanted to go to Georgetown Cupcake because we have been watching the series on Netflix, but we couldn't find any parking when we got to Georgetown and I wasn't going to spend all afternoon looking for a spot. We'll try again another time. :D
