Tell Congress: Don't pull the plug on NPR and PBS!

I just signed a petition telling congress that they need to continue funding NPR and PBS. I have included the letter that they suggest you send to your friends and the link to the website and my own message that I sent when I signed the petition. Please sign and show your support for public media.

Dear Friend,
In a budget proposal made public on Wednesday, House Republicans announced plans to zero out all funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), the nonprofit responsible for funding public media including NPR, PBS, Pacifica and more.
If the Republicans are successful, it would be a tremendous blow to the entire public interest media sector.
We cannot allow Republicans to destroy public media.
I just signed a petition telling Congress to fully fund NPR and defend public service media. You should too. Click below to take action.

"Please do not cut funding to NPR and PBS. These are really the only places in America to get quality programing on television and radio and it would be a tragedy to see the quality go down because this government deemed it unworthy of MY tax dollars. Please remember what Fred Rogers said so eloquently to our Senate in 1969. For a refresher in that I have included a youtube link:

"In 1969, Fred Rogers appeared before the United States Senate Subcommittee on Communications. His goal was to support funding for PBS and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, in response to significant proposed cuts by President Nixon."

Please respect our citizens and the memory of Fred Rogers and continue to fund the wonderful programs and broadcasts that are provided by NPR and PBS. This is something that our government should be proud to fund, for the past, for now and for years to come. Thank you. -Marla Anson"
