I found some really good stuff on Freecycle this past week. Well, some of it is from the free section on Craigslist, but good finds none the less.
First up is a child size Ren Faire costume for Trent. I didn't think I would be getting a costume this nice when I saw it pop up in my email. I figured it was just a halloween costume. But, no. This is a Unicorn Clothing Company costume. This clothing company is usually at all the Ren Faire's on the East coast. I was blown away when the person gave it to me.
Next up is a play garage! Couldn't believe I got this one either. The kids can pull their cars and bikes right into to "work" on them. You can see Icesis investigating the new acquisition. She is a curious bulldog.
Got a rocker/push tricycle for Hunter's use from CL. Two problems with it though. One, the front wheel is sort of flat in one section, but that doesn't really effect the use. The other problem is, I can't figure out how to keep pushing handle up. This is one of the trikes that has a handle for the grown-up to help the kid around with. Oh well. Hunter seems to like it!
Finally, on my list of finds, is about thirty five years worth of National Geographic. I have been looking for old Nat Geo's for school projects for the kids for quite a while but haven't been able to get any. Well, I was on the free section on Craigslist and saw them listed. I emailed the person almost immediately and arranged a pick up. He told me to bring three or four boxes with me, but for some reason it didn't register quite how many I would be getting. I got there and saw the boxes he already packed up and there were still a lot on the shelves. The earliest date I noticed was 1970, and he told me that they canceled their subscription in 2005. I certainly won't be needing any more Nat Geo's now! There are a few issues in the pile that I will definitely not be taking the scissors, too. If you notice the Afghan Girl issue was included. I am sure there are a few other gems among this collection as well.
